Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how AmareTech ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information in connection with our website and our Product Registration & Warranty Claims app for Shopify, including its limited pilot (together, the "Services"). A Shopify merchant that installs or pilots the app controls the customer information collected through its forms; AmareTech processes that information to provide the Services to the merchant.
1. Information we collect
The information we process depends on the fields and features a participating merchant enables. We limit collection to information reasonably needed to operate the pilot and provide product registration and warranty-claim workflows.
- Merchant and store information. Store identifiers such as a Shopify shop ID and
myshopify.comdomain, merchant contact information, app settings, form configuration, warranty settings, plan or pilot status, and information Shopify makes available within the access scopes approved by the merchant. - Product registration information. Depending on the merchant's form, this may include a customer's name and contact details, product or SKU, serial number, purchase date, retailer, proof of purchase, and other information the customer chooses to submit.
- Warranty claim information. Depending on the claim form, this may include customer contact details, product identifiers, issue descriptions, requested resolution, claim status, registration match, receipts, images, documents, and other evidence uploaded with the claim.
- Merchant communications. Support requests, pilot feedback, alert recipients, notification preferences, and related correspondence.
- Operational and security information. Timestamps, app events, delivery records, error logs, IP address, and browser or device information reasonably needed to operate, troubleshoot, and secure the Services.
The Services are not intended to collect payment-card details, government identification numbers, health information, passwords, or other sensitive information. Merchants control the fields and instructions they publish and must collect only information they lawfully need for registration or warranty administration.
2. How we use information
- To publish and operate product registration and warranty claim forms.
- To create registration records, associate claims with registrations, and present claims and supporting evidence to the merchant.
- To support merchant review, status updates, requests for more information, and RMA workflows.
- To authenticate the app, apply settings, send enabled transactional notifications, and provide pilot support.
- To troubleshoot the pilot, evaluate reliability and usability, prevent abuse, and improve the Services.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information, use customer registration or claim data for advertising, or use submitted content to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models.
3. Storage, security & retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including encrypted transport, restricted access, environment separation, monitoring, and service-provider controls. No system is completely secure, and pilot participants should not submit information that the workflow does not require.
We retain merchant settings, registrations, claims, and evidence while needed to operate the pilot and the merchant's account. When Shopify sends a valid customer-erasure or shop-erasure request, or when a merchant makes a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify covered data within 30 days unless law requires retention. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups until overwritten through normal backup cycles.
4. Sharing & subprocessors
We disclose information only as needed to provide the Services, including to Shopify and service providers supporting hosting, data storage, file storage, security, monitoring, and transactional email (including Postmark). These providers may process information only to perform services for us under applicable contractual restrictions. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business reorganization subject to appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your rights & data deletion
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of their personal information. A customer should first contact the merchant whose registration or claim form they used because that merchant controls the submission. We assist merchants with verified requests and will not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right. Merchants may contact us to access or delete pilot data. Contact [email protected].
6. Shopify data protection requests
We honor Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks for customer data access, customer erasure, and shop erasure. When Shopify sends a valid request, we locate, provide, delete, or de-identify relevant registration, claim, evidence, and store data within the required timeframe, subject to lawful retention obligations.
7. Transactional communications
We may send merchants and customers transactional messages that are necessary for registrations, claims, requests for information, status updates, security, or pilot administration. These are not marketing messages. Merchants are responsible for configuring recipients accurately and for any separate marketing communications they send.
8. Cookies & local storage
Our marketing website uses only essential cookies/local storage needed for basic functionality (such as remembering your light/dark theme preference). The embedded app operates inside the Shopify Admin.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate contractual, technical, or legal safeguards for such transfers where required.
10. Children
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. Merchants must not configure forms to knowingly collect personal information from children where prohibited by law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notifying you.
